    thanks for sharing those pics

  2. maan says:

    wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! thank you!

  3. fred says:

is this just a huge Filipino contingent? IF it is then I wont say that Toronto showed its support for Charice. Wish there were pure canadians who showed up too because Filipinos alone can propel her career…

  4. fred says:

i meant “Filipinos alone CAN’T propel her career.”

  5. littletoe says:

wowwwww, really happy for you…keep it up!

  6. insolitude123 says:

    @ Fred….all i can say is …PFFFFfffffffftttttttttt…. evaporate

  7. Sturdytree says:

@Fred it was predominantly Filipinos, I guess All Filipinos in Toronto showed up in support of Charice, but there were young Caucasians, Jamaicans, koreans that I saw from the crowd, it’s just not evident from the pics. The one holding the banner that says “Chasters Labyo” is Jamaican. There was this young Caucasian couple which we have talked to was there following her at CHUM FM as early as 7am in the morning and patiently waited the whole day to watch the show. Half of the VIP passes won were from different race.

  8. Tony says:

I agree the Filipinos alone can’t propel her career, but it has to start somewhere and it just goes to show that her community is supporting her. if she can’t even get the Filipinos to support, what more from the mainstream fans.

  9. Darrow says:

Wow, these photos are great. Charice ROCKS!

  10. 123 says:

i agree with fred and tony and im filipino
she should have more multicultural fans so she would get morreeee exposure so she could go mainstream
thats the important thing that she should be doing by now..

  11. Marty says:

Wow I can’t ‘believe this, but you were there and got the evidence. SOLD! She will be soaring the music industry. We can all tell now.

  12. jn says:

    Well said Tony…

  13. LL says:

There’s nothing wrong with Filipinos supporting her. I was at that concert and saw many different races there. Even if it ended up being just 4000+ Filipinos, that would be better than none at all. I’m not Filipino and what I experienced there was an outpour of love for Charice. That’s all that matters. The event itself being held in that mall where a lot of Canadians shop itself is exposure for her for future fans. Rather than finding the negatives in things, look to the positives. The event was a success and Charice was happy with it.

she was on oprah and ellen degeneres, she’s huge, i just learnt about her now, great voice too.

  15. Eve says:

Thank you so much Roland for the amazing pictures. We posted your pictures and story at charicemania.com They are worth seeing and reading your funny story that you thought maybe a few hundred would show up. Ha ha! Well even I was amazed at the reception there. But it’s all because of the even more amazing talent named Charice! I have no doubt she’ll capture the hearts of everyone, Filipinos and non-Filipinos alike. Of course it is the Filipinos who have taken early notice, but her talent and personality and charisma can’t be denied. We also posted an article “Charice Takes Over Toronto” that pretty much sums up the effect that she has had on all the Toronto media hosts. She’s definitely on her way. I’m so proud of her.

  16. Jhoana Marie says:

I was there at the concert and it’s undeniable that the majority of the audience were filipinos but there were also other ethnicities who were present there. The concert went well despite of the technical errors but we enjoyed it! Go Charice!

  17. Roland says:

Thank you Eve and charicemania.com for picking up my story and sharing my photos with the fans. It was an incredible event and it was so great seeing the community gather together to show their love and support of such an amazing artist. Much love to Charice and to the hard working folks at ChariceMania.com keep up the good work!

those folks were lucky and saw charice in day time, i was at the verizon wireless theater houston june5th & its dark there, not good pix for our camera or my samsung memoir cp cam no good for darkness. i went there to have my 3 CHARICE albums autograph but heard fr the guards she already did it b4 the show & i was in line outside (street curb) fr 4pm-5:3-pm &let us inside6pm- crowded folks inside waiting area until 700pm they let us inside. charice sang the remix and other singers songs instead of her songs in the album, and then when iyaz turn to sing, he got char back to duet the PYRAMID ,I left the concert after char & iyaz performed i really dont care about the bands. i just came to see charice & to have my 3 CHARICE albums sign but no luck , she didnt get out of the backstage after she performed, iyaz did came out of the backstage and have some fans take pix with him,i shook his hand & asked how’s cha and said shes fine,& asked where she’s now & shrugged his shoulders,at least he was nice standing alone there then he went inside the guarded backstage curtain entrance for celebs.

Canada is a multicultural country, so it is exciting to see the outpouring of support from 6000 people and to see a lot of her country people. Music is universal and if someone has talent and personality that CHARICE has,’ the world would be stupid to deny a talent like that’ (para phrasing Lea Salonga’s comment on Charice). If you are a music lover, just enjoy the ride and be happy for Charice. She has earned everything she has and she deserves all the fruits of her labours. As long as she keeps singing I am happy.

i was there and really amazed with tha crowd, talked some people, said that they were there at 1 p.m. i came at 330 pm, ive been following CHARICE since LITTLE BIG STAR. that time im really mad coz she didnt win, but i told to myself whoever is the underdog was the one whos going to be a star and am right. im very very happy when i saw her here in TORONTO, hope shes going to have a concert here soon. i bought two cd and brought along her old album so she can sign it, but signing was to fast by the time i realized it was too late. its okay some other time, i cant believed with my two eyes who saw CHARICE , thats around 4000 people with different nationality although most of them are FILIPINOS. hoping that shes going to penetrate different cultures, but the launching was great and excellent. GOODLUCK CHARICE AND GOD BLESS YOU ALWAYS.

  21. tala says:

Thank you for the photos, Roland. I wasn’t there but through the pics (and the vids) uploaded, i felt as if i’m part of the event. Charice is indeed soaring in her career. And us, her supporters, are just at her back. Thank you again for the pics! :)
